Awards and Accreditations

However good one may be, it is always necessary to be judged by one’s peers to obtain outsider’s approval. Without this, it is hard to know if one is on the right track. We share with you below what others think of us.

In 2007 we entered our Raspberry Sorbet into The Great Taste Awards and won our first Gold Star. In 2008 we won a further six Gold Stars and in 2011 we won another three.

Our appearance on BBC1’s ‘The Apprentice’ allowed us to be judged by a much wider audience and this turned the trickle of new customers into a flood. Despite the imposition the day’s filming had on the kitchen, the end result was a wider recognition of the product, its credentials, food miles and a food product being made one day and sold on the streets of London the next.

Our various Finalist Awards in The Taste of Kent and our West Kent Business Award have helped prove that we are up at the top and becoming the winner of the Quality Food Awards in 2011 for our Raspberry Sorbet was a pleasant surprise, especially as this is judged by food critics and chefs, not the general public.

We are major supporters of Produced in Kent who run the Taste of Kent Awards and their work in promoting small food manufacturers in the county is of great help. Our work with the Sustainable Restaurant Association has also led to us becoming a founding supplier member.

This is what the ‘Q’ Award judges said:

“This is amazing” agreed the panel – such a smooth texture complimented perfectly with the rich Kentish raspberry flavour.

“It has all the creaminess of an ice cream, but with the freshness of a sorbet – quite delightful“ they concluded.
